MSA STATEMENT

I am very interested to further my study at Manchester School of Architecture (MSA) because MSA is globally renowned and officially ranked one of the best architectural schools in the world. MSA also offers me access to the professional lecturers and tutors. This will boost my spirit to improve myself and encourage me to be as expert as they. Furthermore, MSA gives me an opportunity to experience a new ways of life I might never have been experienced in my country. Besides, MSA has produced high standard graduates and placed in top companies and top positions in the world. I believed by being one of the students in MSA, I can achieve my dream to become one of the best architects in the world in the future.
I love to travel and captured every moment by using my camera. One of the buildings that I have visited was Taj Mahal, Agra, India. I am mesmerized with the landscape of that place. It brought me calmness until I became speechless when I saw and feel the environment of that place. The most unforgettable moment I personally experienced was during the sunset. The building shines brightly as they are made from the crystal. I hope one day I can design such a peaceful place as Taj Mahal.
My favourite architect that I admire the most is my father, Zainal Moin. Although he is not a famous architect but he is the only reason why I want to be an architect. He has designed a lot of work but never had a chance to interpret it in the real world. This is because he died in 1999.I still keep all of his plans and designs so that one day I can fulfil his dream to make the drawings become true. One of the design had been incomplete yet which is a bungalow house and I hope I can finish it and build it one day.
A work of architecture that I would like to experience in person is Hagia Sophia. It is located in Istanbu, Turkey. Although it is about 11,500 km from my house, I will never give up to save my money so that I can visit it. Hagia Sophia is now known as a museum after the first Turkish President, Mustafa Kamal Altaturk transformed it from a mosque to a museum. For me, Hagia Sophia is the greatest work of architecture because following reasons. Firstly, the decoration of the interior consist of high artistic value. Second, the dome of Hagia Sophia is built perfectly. Third, the building is covered by variety type of mosaics. Finally, it carries the characteristics of two different cultures which is Ottoman empires and Byzantium empires.

PHOTOSHOP

PHOTOGRAPHY

I always captured every priceless moment in my life by using my DSLR, Canon EOS 600D. It is quite difficult to control the exposure time, but after a few try I successfully create several great photos with a right technique.

NEGATIVE

I also used pen as a medium of my sketches. This is my negative sketches that shows the relationship between human and nature

LANDSCAPE

LIGHT INSTALLATION

I decide to go with the theme “ Ice vs Fire “ to create two different mood with the same material. I designed a small city by using perspex. Then  I coated them  with hot glue in order to give the ice effect on the buildings.  I am using white light  for the ice and orange light for the fire. The ice city symbolize a calmness and tranquility while the fire city symbolize brave and chaotic.

PLAYPEN

Inspired by one of the most famous artist in sculpture, Adrian Tinsley, I tried to follow his endless sculpture to produced my Endless Playpen. The material that I used is mounting board n chip board. The path that I create has no end  and I improved my playpen by removing the wall  because it will look more artistic.

ACRYLIC PAINTING

The theme is passion. I am passionate to water, so illustrate that I can control the water splash and water flow if I fully concentrate my power on it. I used pony brush and I paint it on the A1 canvas.

PENCIL SKETCH

When it comes to still life object, I will focus more on the composition of shadow.

HUMAN FACE

I thoroughly enjoy to sketch human face using several grade of pencil from 4H to 8B. I work really hard to make my sketches to look as realistic as possible
